What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a widely researched and validated treatment approach used to treat a number of issues such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, phobias, trauma, grief, sleep issues, and more and many other psychological issues. I received my EMDR education through EMDR Professional Training an EMDRIA approved provider. For those seeking quicker results, EMDR Intensives offer a more accelerated healing process.
What is Attachment-Focused EMDR?
Attachment-Based EMDR is a specialized approach that combines EMDR with attachment theory to heal emotional wounds from early relational experiences. It helps individuals recover from attachment-related trauma, such as neglect, abandonment, or inconsistent caregiving, which can affect relationships and emotional regulation in adulthood. By reprocessing these experiences, clients can develop healthier, more secure attachments, improve trust, and regulate emotions more effectively. This approach is particularly helpful for those struggling with fear of abandonment, difficulty forming close relationships, or low self-worth. I received my training in this modality through the Laura Parnell Institute, ensuring expert, evidence-based care.
What to Expect?
EMDR uses bilateral stimulations through eye movements, tapping, auditory tones, or pulsators that accelerate the brain’s ability to process and heal a dysfunctional or troubling memory, behavior or feeling. EMDR is a wonderful treatment option for individuals who haven’t found the results they desire through traditional talk therapy. Unlike other therapies it does not require talking in detail about the distressing memory. Through this process, the brain can reprocess difficult memories and resume its natural healing process..
